Terms of Service & SMS Program Terms

These Terms govern your use of KeepWatch Vigil at https://keepwatchvigil.com (the “Service”), a free platform for Catholic parish adoration scheduling and related ministry communications. By using the Service, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy.

1. The Service

KeepWatch helps parishes and parishioners manage Eucharistic Adoration schedules, substitute requests, chapel check-in, reminders, and optional operational alerts. The Service is provided free of charge “as is” for religious and community ministry use.

2. Accounts and acceptable use

Provide accurate contact information (name, email, and phone if you choose text alerts).
Use the Service only for legitimate parish ministry scheduling and related notices.
Do not use KeepWatch to send spam, harassment, unlawful content, or unsolicited marketing.
Parish administrators are responsible for messages they send to their parish community and for obtaining any local permissions required by their diocese or parish.

3. SMS / text message program terms (KeepWatch Vigil Alerts)

Program name: KeepWatch Vigil Alerts
Purpose: Transactional parish adoration scheduling messages only (not advertising).
Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply.

3.1 What messages you may receive

Account verification and magic sign-in codes
Holy-hour signup confirmations
Reminders about upcoming adoration commitments (often ~24 hours before)
Substitute (“sub”) request alerts when someone needs coverage
Confirmation when you claim or are assigned a sub hour
Optional operational alerts from your parish admin (e.g., open hours, emergency chapel notices)

3.2 How you opt in (consent)

You opt in to SMS only when you intentionally provide a mobile number and choose text messaging, for example by:

Signing up for adoration on keepwatchvigil.com and selecting Text or Both as contact preference, and/or checking options to join the sub list with a phone number
Joining the parish Sub List and providing a mobile number with text preference
Updating your profile to add a phone number and enable text alerts
Optionally opting in on a parish chapel kiosk “Just Visiting” form when you provide a phone and request sub-list membership

Consent is not required as a condition of visiting the chapel or using non-SMS features of the website. Providing a phone number for text alerts is voluntary.

On forms where SMS is enabled, we display language substantially similar to: “By providing your mobile number and selecting Text or Both, you agree to receive automated KeepWatch Vigil Alerts about adoration scheduling from your parish. Message frequency varies. Msg & data rates may apply. Reply STOP to cancel, HELP for help. Privacy: https://keepwatchvigil.com/privacy · Terms: https://keepwatchvigil.com/terms. No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes.”

3.3 How you opt out

Reply STOP to any KeepWatch Vigil text to cancel SMS. You will receive a one-time confirmation of opt-out.
You may also change your contact preference to Email only, turn off reminders, or leave the sub list in your profile, or ask your parish coordinator.
Reply START or UNSTOP (if supported) or re-enable text preference in your profile if you wish to re-subscribe later.

3.4 Help

3.5 Carriers & rates

Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Message and data rates may apply depending on your mobile plan.

3.6 Privacy of mobile numbers

No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. See our full Privacy Policy.

4. Parish administrators

Admins must only message people who have a legitimate relationship with the parish program and must not use KeepWatch for unsolicited commercial advertising. Emergency alerts should be reserved for genuine operational needs (e.g., chapel closed, open hours needing coverage).

5. Intellectual property

KeepWatch branding, site design, and software are owned by KeepWatch Vigil / its operators. Parish content (schedules, names) remains under the care of each parish.

6. Disclaimer of warranties

The Service is provided free of charge on an “AS IS” and “AS AVAILABLE” basis without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee uninterrupted access or perfect delivery of every email or text (carrier and user-device factors can affect delivery).

7. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, KeepWatch and its operators are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from use of the Service, including missed adoration coverage due to undelivered messages. Your sole remedy is to stop using the Service.

8. Changes

We may update these Terms. Continued use after updates constitutes acceptance. Material SMS program changes will be reflected on this page.
